Art & Surgery Interactive Exhibition (Heritage Open Days)
FREE EVENT
This is a co-created event, funded by New Wave. Our Young Curators have worked hard to bring you an immersive and interactive exhibition!
You may not see art and surgery as a likely pair, but we are looking to prove otherwise…
In our co-created exhibition with Young Curators, come along to explore how art and surgery influence each other. From plastic surgery to poetry and dissection to music, delve into the rich history of the two disciplines.
In the Undercroft explore how plastic and cosmetic surgery is in itself an art form, and its start in reconstructive surgery. Then step into the Great Hall where links between poetry and post mortem surgery will be displayed.
Add your own songs to our collaborative surgeon’s playlist (‘Staying Alive’ by the BeeGees may feature)… And handling sessions with some of our objects are also available, so get stuck in!
Open Saturday and Sunday (10th, 11th, 16th, 17th): 1-4pm.
